 Rectangular Form

The format for the rectangular form is
C = ± A ± jB

The effect of a negative sign.

Example 2.1: Sketch the following complex numbers in the complex plane:
a.      C = 3 + j 4
b.     C = 0 – j 6
c.      C = -10 – j 20
Solutions:

2.1            Polar Form
The format for the polar form is
C = C
Where C indicates magnitude only and q is always meas­ured counterclockwise (CCW) from the positive real axis,
A negative sign has the effect shown in Fig. 2.7:
-C = -C  = C ± p
